My unfortunate incident at the Fort Strip parking lot

To Vic and Bong, thank you for the fast response in the motorcycle accident I had last March 6 at the back of the EMBASSY FLY, Th Fort Strip.

Last March 5, I park my scooter at the open parking space of the Fort Strip, after coming from a blog activity. This is the second time I parked at the said place so I really don’t know the facilities. When I was going out and passing though the EMBASSY FLY two options was given to me by the EXIT SIGN. One going to the left (going to the NET2 Building) and the other going to the right side (facing the Boni High area). And because I was planning to have a stroll and take some pictures of other shop for my other blog. So I decided to go to the exit on the right side. I saw the parking attendant booth, it was empty and dark. I drove toward the booth and will wait for the attendant or a guard at least to get my ticket.

When I was driving toward the booth an invisible obstruction just caught half of my body that threw me off my bike into the pavement. I felt my knee hitting the street so instinctively pull my body to make a 90 degree turn to land on my back and not land face down. Don’t worry I was wearing my helmet.

Lying there I tried to feel if any part of my body is broken. I felt that blood is dripping in my knee, muscle pain in my left arm below the elbow and muscle sore in my upper right abdomen which hit the chain. About one minute three guards approached and check on my situation. They called the Global Response Unit and told me to wait and don’t move. Also asked me if any part of my body is hurt. So I told them what I felt.

One of the three guards asked me why I was exiting there when the way is no longer passable. I told him saw two lighted EXIT signs pointing to the left and the right, and I was planning to go to the Boni High area so I decided to go to the right side. Then he asked me, (as if it was confirming) “Bukas ba yung ilaw nung dalawang signs?”/”Is the two signs lite?” I told him, “Yes. If it was not then I won’t be going in this direction.”
Then another guard from the background said, “Madami na ngang naaaksidente dito.”/”Alot of accident is occurring here.” Then the response unit arrive. It was just not longer than 3 minutes after the call was made. I was brought to the Makati Medical, where I was given medical attention.

The place was dark only a few light was lite and was not lighting the exit. No signs that the exit is no longer passable. There also no reflective markings to indicate that a metal chain is blocking the way. I had my headlights on. But because the way was elevated my light passed it instantly so did not saw it.

I would like to thank first and foremost Zee for being there, and Vic and Bong for the fast response and first aid they have given me, and Arpee and Noreen Lazaro for giving me a ride home. They might not have joined the blog activity, but they sure had an adventure going to my place.

I hope you’re well now! If a lot of accidents had occurred in that area, I think it’s time the Fort people did something about this to avoid further accidents.

The funny thing about that. When me and my brother is retrieving my scooter. The Chief office of security stated that I was the first to have an accident in that area. So I told him “So are you implying that I deliberately ram myself in the chain to hurt myself.” He replied the same line that I was the first one who had and accident in that are. I just ignore him after that.
